I am studying for a degree in Environmental Science at Salish Kootenai College. The Flathead Reservation in northwestern Montana has always been my home and I am a member of the Pend’orielle tribe of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. After high school I began working for the CSKT Department of Natural Resources. My favorite jobs were: Jocko River Basin riparian vegetation restoration, fisheries technician aide, and being a park aide for the National Bison Range. It is my desire to achieve a degree so that I may someday make a positive impact on my tribes’ natural resource management and conservation. My two kids are the center of my life. My husband and I spend all of our free time fishing, camping, hunting, and participating in cultural activities. My hobbies are painting watercolors and beading. I recently illustrated a book for CSKT called Bulltrout’s Gift which incorporated Salish storytelling with the restoration of the bulltrout to the Columbia River Plateau.
